Join us in celebrating 40 years of Caproin S.A., a leading Colombian company dedicated to representing and distributing industrial equipment. In this special video, we take a look back at our company’s history, highlight our core values, and showcase our unwavering commitment to the development of our nation.

Caproin S.A. was founded on January 12th, 1984 in the city of Cali, Colombia, under the name of “Comercializadora Andina de Productos Industriales Limitada, Caproin Ltda.” This name describes the purpose and vision of its founders Jorge Herberto Hernández Salgado and Humberto Sánchez Asseff.

During its first years, Caproín Ltda. had notable growth in distributing imported products from the U.S.A, such as Falk’s speed reducers and couplings for mechanic power transmission, Eriez’ grids and magnetic tubes, which to this day are distributed and represented. Its clients were mainly from sugar, cement and paper industries. These products were purchased through the then brands’ distributor in Colombia: C. E. Halaby & Cia. Ltda.

During the 1990s, Caproín Ltda. acquired its first building in the neighborhood of La Merced in the city of Cali and continued its partnership with C. E. Halaby & Cia.; opened an office in Bogotá and partnered with local distributors in Barranquilla and Medellin.

At the start of this century, the company complemented its distribution business with the representation of prestigious companies in the industry, such as power transmission equipment by Falk from Rexnord; magnetic separation equipment, metal detection and material categorization from Eriez Magnetics; cleaning and leakage control and material handling from Arch Environmental Equipment and Cinch Seal Corp.; bucket elevator, conveyor belts and screw conveyors from Martin Sprockets and Gears.

In 2004, the company evolved into Caproin S.A. to open new partnership opportunities to its associates. Subsequently, the company opened offices in Barranquilla and Medellin, with the purpose of offering personal service to its clients.

Today, Caproin S.A.’s family is staffed with specialized Engineers at each location, who perform marketing and technical sales support to their clients in Barranquilla, Bogotá, Medellin and Cali. The company is known for its national presence and positioning, as well as for its representation and distribution of  highly recognized brands of industrial equipment.
